Instructions
- We used a large apple and got 6 cuts, but if you’re using a smaller apple you might only get 3 or 4. Use this to judge how many Apple Monsters you want to make. Time to get cutting!! With a serrated knife, cut a wedge 3/4 of the way into the apple right before you hit the core. Stick your knife down into the top of the apple and cut into the core to release the wedge you just cut. You can also cut a wedge out, just make sure to remove the core/seeds from the back. To keep the back side of the apple from turning brown, mix a little water and lemon juice together and brush the backside of the apple.
- Put a Tablespoon of mayonnaise into a pastry bag or a storage bag and cut a small hole on one corner. Pipe a dot of mayo onto the apple. Place a candy eye on top of each mayo dot. Don’t put too much mayo or the eye will slide down.
- Fill the “monster’s” mouth with Palmetto Cheese. You can use a spoon or use a pastry bag or storage bag. Just make sure to cut a larger hole in the storage bag to let the cheese pass through. This makes it a little less messy too! Palmetto Cheese Apple Monsters" />
- For the teeth, use pieces of a pecan. You can break off smaller chunks for teeth or slice the pecan and make rows of teeth.
- For the red tongue, just take a small piece of roasted red pepper and cut it into the shape of a tongue and place it into the cheese.
