Instructions
- Thaw one sheet of puff pastry for 40 minutes.
- Heat oven to 400F.
- Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
- The pastry is already divided into three sections when you unfold it, so cut along those two fold lines.
- Make two more cuts the opposite direction so that each square is about 3 inches by 3 inches.
- With the top of a mason jar, press into the center of each square but not all of the way through. After it's baked, this will be the area you fill.
- Place onto a baking sheet and leave one inch space between each square.
- Mix egg and water together and brush the tops of each square.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- When cooled, use you finger or a spoon and lightly press down the circle area to create a cavity for your filling.
- Fillings are optional. You can just use Palmetto Cheese if you like!
- If you use preserves, add a teaspoon of your favorite kind first and top with Palmetto Cheese.
- Garnish with strawberries, figs, pecans, or jalapeno slices. Combos are up to you!
